Medical Observership Programmes
Medical exchange of knowledge and skills
Course Overview
The UK NHS system is renowned all over the world for being able to deliver free health care at the point of need. The NHS are world leaders in medical research and immunotherapy development and have some of the world’s top medical schools on our doorstep.
With the advancement of technology bringing people together we have seen the need to connect our expertise to the rest of the world. This has created an opportunity for a peer-to-peer collaboration programme to open our healthcare professions to different medical practices.
This is a 12 week clinical rotation for doctors to observe and work with UK doctors within your trained speciality.
As the attending doctor or nurse, you will be placed with equal level professionals to undertake a professional observation into medical practice, hospital governance, patient management and leadership.
On successful completion of your programme you be expected to complete a 15 minute presentation to your teachers and colleagues; you will receive a completion certificate from the hosting hospital.
London Medical Exchange International Observership Programme provides observation opportunities to qualified doctors and nurses from various countries. The programmes have range from 4 to 12 weeks allowing the participants to engage with medical staff and gain an understanding of patient pathway management.
It has also allowed for our UK teams to learn from their peers and arrange international collaboration, research and exchange trips following the programme’s completion.
